The Pakistan Navy has officially assumed command of Combined Task Force (CTF) 150 for the 14th time, reinforcing its commitment to regional maritime security. The handover ceremony was held at the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Headquarters in Bahrain.

Commodore Muhammad Yasir Tahir of the Pakistan Navy took over the command from Commodore Fahad Al-Joaid of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. Upon assuming command, Commodore Tahir highlighted the importance of continued operations against illegal maritime activities.

“Assuming command of CTF 150 is an honor for the Pakistan Navy,” he said. “We will continue to conduct effective operations to safeguard key maritime trade routes and ensure regional security.”

CTF 150, one of five task forces operating under the Combined Maritime Forces, focuses on countering the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and other illicit items across the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Gulf of Oman.

During the tenure of the Saudi Navy, Pakistan Navy’s anti-narcotics operations stood out as a testament to its dedication to peace and maritime security.

The ceremony was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, the Commander of Combined Maritime Forces, the Chief of the Royal Bahrain Naval Forces, and representatives from various member naval forces.

This latest assumption of command underscores the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing role as a key contributor to multinational efforts for maritime safety and stability in the region.
