At least seven people, mostly children were injured on Tuesday in an explosion near a school on Warsak Road in Peshawar.
Following the blast, Police and Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site of the incident.
Most of the injured are child labourers, who used to sell potato chips in front of the school, the police said.
The injured include 8-year-old Ehsanullah Babugarhi, 14-years-old Ahmed Zia, 17-year-old Javed, 22-year-old Niyamat, 6-year-old Shakirullah, 23-year-old Yusuf and 24-year-old Saad Ahmed.
The police reported that the condition of one injured is critical.
The police reported that the windows of the nearby building were broken due to the explosion.
The police said the blast took place due to an explosion of explosives.
SP Warsak, Arshad Khan told the media that the unfortunate incident that occurred at 9:10, stating that approximately 4 kg of explosives was used in the blast.
Arshad Khan emphasized that it would be too early to determine the specific target of the blast at this stage.
According to Arshad Khan, the explosives were concealed within a cement block.
Following the incident, a search operation has been initiated in the surrounding area to gather more information and assess the situation.
Arshad Khan mentioned that the possibility of extortion being a motive for the blast is also under consideration.
