Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to see further increase in upcoming fortnightly review for second half of July 2025.
Reports indicate that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its initial review for revising petroleum prices in line with fluctuations in the international market. OGRA will submit its summary on the proposed price changes to the Ministry of Finance tomorrow (July 15).
The ministry will announce the new petrol prices for the period of July 16–31 after consulting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Current Petrol Price in Pakistan
Currently, per petrol price stands at Rs266.79 after it was increased by Rs8.36 in previous fortnightly review.Similarly, the high speed diesel is being sold for Rs272.98 per litre after it recorded an increase of Rs10.39 with effect from July 1.
Expected Petrol Price in Pakistan from July 16
The revised fuel prices will come into effect from July 1, 2025. According to reports, the price of petrol is expected to increase by Rs6.26 per litre, bringing the new rate to around Rs273.05 per litre.
Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel is likely to rise by Rs5.27 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs278.25 per litre.
On the other hand, the prices of kerosene oil and light-speed diesel are expected to decrease by Rs3.74 and Rs2.23 per litre, respectively.
If petrol and diesel prices do go up, it will likely lead to an increase in train and bus fares across the country, along with higher prices for various essential goods.
