PM discusses steps to ensure provision of electricity, petroleum products supply

ISLAMABAD: An emergency meeting regarding energy sector was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday in Islamabad.

The forum discussed steps to overcome electricity load shedding and ensure provision of petroleum products.

The meeting is being attended by Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbassi and Miftah Ismail as well as officials of ministries of petroleum and finance.

On April 12, Shehbaz Sharif had called an urgent meeting of economic experts to discuss the current financial challenges facing the country.

Chaired by PM Shehbaz, the meeting was attended by prominent economists who had deliberated upon the ways and means to find a solution for financial stability.

The prime minister was given a briefing on the data on the national balance sheet and fiscal deficits.

“Important decisions will be taken in line with the recommendations of the experts,” the meeting had decided.
