LONDON: Britain’s Royal Family marked the birthday of the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother sharing a collection of rare archival photographs celebrating her life and legacy.
The Royal Collection Trust posted historic images on social media, noting that Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who later became Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, was born on Aug. 4, 1900.
Meanwhile, Glamis Castle, where the Queen Mother spent much of her childhood, also shared a tribute featuring rarely seen photographs from its archives.

The castle said that although she is often believed to have been born at Glamis Castle, she moved there at the age of four and spent much of her childhood at the estate, where many of her earliest memories were formed.

The birthday tribute coincided with the 45th birthday of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who is celebrating the occasion privately with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and their children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex. While the celebrations are unrelated, both occasions fall on the same date.
