Sindh High Court summoned case of illegal construction in Bahria Town

The Sindh High Court (SHC) summoned the case of illegal construction in Bahria Town. The case was petitioned by citizen Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi.

The SHC gave notice to Bahria Town, Chief Secretary of Sindh, Secretary Ministry of Housing, and DG Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).

The notice was also sent to DG Malir Development Authority (MDA), SSP Malir, and Advocate General.

“To construct a building in a city, it is necessary to pass the design of homes,” says Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi.

“Without the approval of SBCA, it is illegal to pass a design for a home,” he added.

He pointed out that Bahria Towns takes no approval from any relevant department before constructing any building.

Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi concluded, “It is a big question on the legal status of Bahria town for not taking any approval.”
