Six terrorists were killed by gunfire from their own associates during a clash with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) near Chapri Dam in Mianwali.
The incident took place during a CTD operation aimed at apprehending the militants, based on intelligence reports. According to a spokesperson, the terrorists opened fire on the CTD team, and in the ensuing gun battle, six of them were accidentally killed by their own associates. Eight other militants, however, managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Authorities also recovered a suicide vest, three hand grenades, three submachine guns, 200 rounds of ammunition, and explosive materials during the operation.
Efforts are ongoing to identify the slain terrorists and to capture those who fled. CTD officials confirmed that the group had been planning attacks on police and other security agencies.
