KOHAT: Three police officials, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were martyred and several others injured when terrorists attacked a police vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kohat district.
According to police officials, militants opened fire on a police mobile van in the remote Shakardara Road area. As a result of the attack, three officers, including DSP Asad Mehmood, embraced martyrdom. Several other personnel sustained injuries.
After carrying out the assault, the attackers set the police vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene, authorities said.
Terrorist incidents have continued to occur across the country, particularly in provinces bordering Afghanistan.
A day earlier, at least three Federal Constabulary (FC) personnel were martyred when an ambulance transporting injured officers was targeted in a terrorist attack in the Badrakhail area of Karak, KP.
In separate security operations, four Indian proxy militants described as Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, KP. Additionally, five militants were killed in another raid conducted in Balochistan’s Pishin district.
