The United States Embassy in Islamabad has extended the suspension of visa services at its embassy and consulates across Pakistan until Friday, March 6, due to the current security situation following nationwide protests.
The decision comes after demonstrations took place in several cities over the reported assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during Israeli and American attacks in Iran.
The US Embassy in Islamabad confirmed that all visa appointments have been canceled until March 6 as a precaution. Visa services have also been suspended at the United States Consulate General Lahore and the United States Consulate General Karachi.
According to the embassy, all previously scheduled appointments are canceled until further notice, and new dates will be announced later.
In an official statement, the US Mission said the cancellations are a precautionary step linked to the evolving security environment.
