The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab on Monday arrested seven terrorists during multiple Intelligence-Based Operations (IBO) in the province.
A total of 248 IBOs were conducted in cities including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal; along with Tehreek-e-Taliban-e-Pakistan (TTP) comannder Salman being nabbed from Bahawalpur.
The operations resulted in the recovery of explosives, including two hand grenades and Improvised explosive device (IED) bombs, along with a significant amount of cash.
The arrested terrorists, identified as Khalid, Salman, Nadeem, Akmal, and Yasser Yasin, were allegedly planning to carry out attacks on key installations, according to officials.
This week, authorities conducted 1136 combing operations, resulting in the arrest of 132 suspects.
Additionally, 46,467 individuals were interrogated during these operations.
The CTD emphasized its commitment to ensuring a safer Punjab and reiterated its determination to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.
