Rajab Butt next in line for NCCIA probe after Ducky Bhai
LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered cases against three YouTubers, including Rajab Butt, and started efforts to bring them back to Pakistan.
According to officials, the cases were filed against Rajab Butt, Anas, and Huraria for allegedly promoting illegal apps and online gambling. Investigators stated that the three were issued notices on three separate occasions but failed to appear, resulting in formal cases being registered against them. The NCCIA confirmed that steps are now underway to repatriate them.
A spokesperson for the agency stated that strict action will continue against anyone involved in online scams, illegal investments, and social media gambling promotions.
Meanwhile, Lahore police arrested two suspects linked to the firing incident at Rajab Butt’s residence. Police said the suspects confessed to attacking the orders of a man named Shani Tiger. Investigations also revealed that two others, Usman and Luqman, were in a car nearby during the shooting.
Police believe the motive behind the attack was a recent online clash between Rajab Butt and fellow YouTuber Shehzad Bhatti. According to authorities, Shehzad Bhatti asked Shani Tiger to arrange the attack, which led to the armed assault at Butt’s home.
