Jamshoro: Presidential award-winning shehnai maestro Shehnai Nawaz Ustad Abdullah has passed away at the age of 72.
According to family sources, he had been battling lung and asthma-related ailments for a long time. His funeral prayer will be held today in Kotri, followed by burial at his ancestral graveyard in Syed Budhal Shah.
Ustad Abdullah was a globally acclaimed shehnai player from the subcontinent, whose artistry earned him decades of recognition.
His performances were celebrated in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, and he showcased his talent at numerous national and international cultural festivals.
He played a pivotal role in giving new dimensions to Sindhi music and was honored with the Presidential Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the art.
