Liverpool beat beat West Ham 2-0 at the London Stadium and claimed their 19th and final Premier League scalp of the campaign – a new club record.

The Merseysiders went ahead shortly after the half-hour mark when Issa Diop brought down Divock Origi, with Mohamed Salah stepping up to dispatch the resulting penalty in the bottom corner.

Liverpool dominated possession from the first whistle, exerting enormous control on the match, though it was a counter-attack that brought about their second goal.

This time Salah turned creator, poking an exquisite pass in behind the defence for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who burst through on goal and tucked the ball past Lukasz Fabianski.

The result means Liverpool now 19 points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City in second place and maintain their unbeaten run in the league, which now stretches to 41 games dating back to last season.
