CANBERRA: Pakistani women cricket team lost by 42 runs to their England counterparts in their ICC Women’s World T 20 encounter on Friday.
According to the details, Chasing a sizable 158-run target, the Girls in Green could only muster 116 for the loss of all 10 wickets in 19.4 overs.
The loss against the 2009 champions was a result of Pakistan’s middle-order collapsing completely. From the top order, only openers Muneeba Ali (10) and Javeria Khan (16) contributed in double figures.
Defeat leaves Pakistan needing to win their last two group games to stand a realistic chance of qualification, while England know that victory against West Indies in their final fixture should be enough for them to get through.
Earlier in the last match, The girls in green comfortably defeated West Indies by eight wickets in ICC Women T20 World Cup at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
In the last match, Pakistan chased the target of 125 in the 19th over.
