PCB considering to hold PSL matches without spectators in Lahore

After Karachi, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) considers to hold Pakistan Super League (PSL) V matches in empty grounds over coronavirus pandemic.

The spokesperson of the PCB said, the matches of the PSL-5 will held as per schedule in Lahore.

He said the board is in contact with the Punjab government on the developing situation.

The PCB’s spokesperson further said the advisory of the provincial government will implemented.

Yesterday, Sindh government had also imposed a ban on spectators in cricket stadium during Pakistan Super League (PSL) 5 matches played in Karachi.

Later, the management of PCB had said in a statement, “Following government advice, the upcoming #PSLV matches in Karachi will be played in front of an empty National Stadium.

The precautionary decision has been made to better protect the health of spectators, players, officials & media.”

Moreover, 23 cases of the coronavirus have confirmed in Pakistan.

Many foreign players in Pakistan Super League (PSL) are preparing to leave Pakistan amid Coronavirus worries.

According to sources, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given option to foreign players to withdraw from the game.

England players are ready to leave the league and go back, sources said.

PCB said in a statement that the board asked players to withdraw from the league; any player has the option to do so.

‘Even if a local player does not want to play a match, he is allowed to leave’, said PCB sources.

On the other hand, the PCB  has also decided to postpone the Pakistan Cup.

According to sources, the new date for the scheduled Pakistan Cup will be announced in Karachi on March 25.

In other countries many sports events arranged without audience.

However, many countries have suspended sports, education and mobilization events and festivals.
