Former Indian captain and iconic cricket legend Mahendra Sindh Dhoni clebrates his 39th birthday on Tuesday (today).

MS Dhoni’s former and current teammates and fans around the globe pour in their their heartfelt birthday greetings on social media.

Cricket Australia’s Twitter handle came up with a novel idea to extend their greetings. Terming MS Dhoni as “one of the biggest hitters we’ve ever seen”, CA tweeted a video of MS Dhoni smashing the ball out of the park in Australia. The video was an instant hit, garnering over 1,500 Retweets and over 5,500 Likes in double-quick time.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is regarded as one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team, has been away from the cricket field for nearly a year, yet no news of his return broke out.

In his career as captain, Dhoni led India to 2007 T20I World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. He, then became the first captain to have won all three ICC tournaments.

Several members of the Indian cricket fraternity, including current India captain Virat Kohli and other cricketers took to Twitter to wish Dhoni the best on his special day.

Dhoni has played 90 Tests in which he amassed 4,876 runs at an average of 38.09. He has also played 350 ODIs in which he has scored 10,773 runs at an average of 50.57.

Formerly known as ‘captain cool’ during his captaincy days, Dhoni has also played 98 T20Is for India in which he has scored 1,617 runs at an average of 37.60.
