The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has now confirmed his move to the English premier league giants Chelsea. His prospects and ability have Chelsea fans very excited.

Ever since Havertz scored twice in Korkut’s final game in charge of the German side, being named the outstanding young German footballer whilst also making it to the Bundesliga team of the year in 2019, The 21-year-old has been on the radar for many top clubs around the world.

“I remember telling Rudi Voller, Leverkusen’s sporting director, to take care of Kai because he would be one of the best players in the world. He was 17 at the time but that is what I said. I have seen a lot of players with talent, but he is very, very special.” Said Korkut during an interview.

In his last 87 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen Havertz was always the person giving opposition trouble. He scored 38 goals in those matches and had many more assists that complimented his professional record.

“A lot of players have talent but to finish the situations can be difficult for the young players. Many of them can dribble but lots of them miss the final pass or shot. In the past two years, he has developed that part of his game fantastically. He has improved a lot and scored a lot of goals.” Said Korkut in another interview reminding everyone of the potential that the young star had.

Having not made any new signings over the past year, and following the £100million sale of Eden Hazard last summer, Chelsea has more than enough in the bank to fund club legend and now coach Frank Lampard.

The blues are not expected to conclude their transfers with this move only as offers for Brazillian defender Thiago Silva and Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell are also expected to be on the table.
