The Serbian Top Speed Novak Djokovic cruised to the first-round win after defeating 80th-ranked Mikael Ymer with 6-0 6-2 6-3 in the French Open 2020.

According to the details, Novak Djokovic, who played his first Grand Slam match since his US Open disqualification, maintained his level to win in an hour and 38 minutes.

The Serb bounced back by winning the Italian Open on the Rome clay last week.

In his post-match remarks, Novak Djokovic said “This is what my intentions will be, trying to get off the blocks very strong with good intensity,” 

He added that “Obviously these conditions are different than what we are used to here in the French Open.”

“Everyone has been talking about it. The balls, the heavy clay, the cold weather.”

Who will Djokovic play next?

The Serbian tennis icon will now face Ricardas Berankis in Paris in his next match. Djokovic is one of the clear favorites. He only got defeated this year when he was defaulted from US open 2020 after hitting a line judge with a ball.

Earlier on September 22,  the World No 1  Novak Djokovic made a spectacular come back from a double break down in the first set to defeat Diego Schwartzman 7-5, 6-3 and claim a record-breaking 36th Masters 1000 crown at the Foro Italico in Rome.

Novak Djokovic lifted his fifth Roman crown and the record 36th Masters title, winning one more than Rafael Nadal.

After winning the title. Djokovic said “Turning to Paris, I couldn’t ask for a better tournament here in Rome. Another big title and I’m super pleased,”

“I don’t think I played my best tennis throughout the entire week, but I think I found my best tennis when I needed it in the decisive moments.”

“It was a great week. A very challenging week.”
