Karachi, Lahore to host PSL 6 matches in proposed schedule

The opening match of the 6th edition of PSL will be played between defending champions, Karachi Kings, and former champions, Quetta Gladiators, on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at Karachi’s National Stadium.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to host the PSL 6 at two venues. The tournament will be held in Karachi and Lahore due to the terrible situation of the novel coronavirus in the country.

The host cities for the tournaments are decided to be Karachi and Lahore. The reports also told that the decision has been made to keeping in mind the increased spending following the coronavirus crisis and tournament’s preparations.

Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Lahore Qalandars, and Multan Sultans teams will participate in the round-robin stage ending on March 16.

The top four teams will be able to play the knockout stages that will be contested beginning on March 18, while the final will be played in Lahore on March 22.

Previously, Wasim Khan, Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the tentative dates for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6.

According to the details, Wasim during an interview said that the PSL 6 draft will be held in January’s first week.

“We are looking to start from February 20th to March 21st and these are the tentative dates just like the last season,” he said.

“We have informed the franchises and they are aware of these dates. The matches will be played at the same four venues, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi,” he added.
