Former Pakistan woman cricketer Sana Mir has contracted the novel Coronavirus here on Monday.

According to the details, Sana Mir, the 34-year-old cricketer has isolated herself after being diagnosed with coronavirus. She has represented Pakistan in 226 internationals since her debut in 2005 and was a captain in 137 of them.

The off-spinner is the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in ODIs and second-highest behind Nida Dar in T20Is.

Mir also became the world’s top-ranked bowler for one-day internationals (ODIs); and the top wicket-taker for spinners ever among women in ODIs.

She has been decorated with the Pakistani medal of excellence known as the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, similar to the U.S. Congressional Medal of Honor, while also winning the People’s Choice Award at the Pakistan Sports Awards.

Earlier, Sana Mir took a break from international cricket and had missed Pakistan’s tour of England.

Subsequently, she was not named in the T20I squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia in 2020.
