Cricket Legend and former Pakistan Captain Inzamam Ul Haq has hailed Rahul Dravid for preparing the new energetic Indian crop of cricketers after they recorded a second consecutive Test series win in Australia.

Inzamam Ul Haq in a vide posted on his YouTube Channel, said “This journey from Under-19 to India A, and from India A to the national team, I realised that they guys improved their base through none other than Rahul Dravid. Dravid’s strength…the reason why he was called ‘The Wall’ is because he had a strong defence. He could play in every condition, was mentally so strong that he could adjust himself in any position. Dravid worked with these players to make them mentally tough.”

He added that “After losing the first Test and Virat (Kohli) going back, to win the Melbourne Test and taking it to the decider without four of your main players who were injured, I think it was all Dravid’s doing. More than technique, he tried to make them The Wall as well, who could play in every condition. Dravid trained them, which these players have benefitted from.”

India produced a spectacular display of cricketing skills and bravery to defeat Australia in the four-match Test series on their soil.

Team India also grabbed the first position in the World Test Championship points table while Australia slipped to No.3.

Whereas the win against Australia lifted the team to the second place in ICC Test Team rankings. New Zealand sits atop the table with 118.44 points while India now has 117.65 points, overtaking Australia on 113 points.

Rishabh Pant unleashed a late batting assault to fire visitors to an incredible three-wicket win in the fourth Test over Australia in Brisbane. India won on Day 5 and sealed the series 2-1.
