The entire sports fraternity of Pakistan has extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Adha 2021 greetings to all the Muslims out there.

Yesterday, Pakistan players celebrated Eid-ul-Azha by offering prayers at their local hotel in Manchester.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed led the Eid prayers and also delivered the sermon. After the sermon, all the players and staff members embraced each other and exchanged Eid greetings.

Muslims all across Pakistan, Bangladesh and India are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha 2021 under strict precautionary measures amidst the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Eid-ul-Adha celebrations in the country, which will last till Friday, come at a time when a steady rise in COVID-19 cases has been witnessed and the threat of the Delta variant looms high.

The day started with special prayers in mosques for the well-being of the Ummah and the progress, prosperity and security of the country.

Ulema in their sermons of Eid highlights the significance of the philosophy of great sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismail (AS).

After the Eid prayers, people began to offer sacrifices of animals to follow the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

Muslims traditionally celebrate Eid ul-Adha, one of the most important religious festivities, with the sacrifice of animals like sheep, rams, goats and cattle.

The act commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s submission to divine order to sacrifice his son, Ismail. Just before sacrificing his son, Allah provided Prophet Ibrahim with a ram to sacrifice instead after he successfully passed the divine test.
