Sadio Mane, who is out injured for Bayern Munich, will “come back a bit early,” according to manager Julian Nagelsmann, and may play against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday from Bayern’s winter training camp in Qatar, Nagelsmann said Mane was recovering from the right fibula injury that kept him out of the World Cup better than expected.

“He (Mane) is an important player. When everything goes well, it could be that he’s there against Paris,” Nagelsmann said.

“But we will see, “In my mind, I’m not counting on him for the first game against Paris.”

Since moving from Liverpool to Bayern in the summer, Mane has tallied six goals and three assists in the league.

On February 14, six-time Champions League champion Bayern will travel to Paris for the opening leg match. On March 8, Bayern will host the return match.
