Lahore Qalandars, a Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, is hoping to make history in the upcoming T20 tournament.

The Qalandars’ Chief Operating Officer (COO) has stated that the team wants to be the first to win back-to-back PSL titles.

“We want to be the first team to win back-to-back PSL championships. “There is no pressure on us because we have been through difficult times in the past,” Rana said.

He also gave an update on captain and star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

“Shaheen Afridi if fully fit and he will lead Lahore Qalandars during the upcoming season of PSL. He has regained his bowling rhythm and is now training with the Pakistan team,” he said.

“We will try to defend our title under his leadership,” he added.

Rana was also pleased with the Qalandars’ squad assembled during last month’s draught in Karachi.

“We are pleased with our team composition. “Our strength is bowling, but we also have world-class batters,” he said.

Rana also expressed hope that the PSL will expand under the leadership of Najam Sethi, who was recently appointed chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.

“Najam Sethi started the PSL at a difficult time, and the tournament needs someone like him again,” he concluded.

It is planned that the eighth PSL will take place from February 13 to March 19, 2023.
