Nida Dar, an all-around player, has advocated for more chances for Pakistani players to compete with the best in the world both internationally and domestically.

While they are not the only team to suffer at the hands of the enormous strength and depth of the host side, Pakistan are now touring Australia and their first two ODI losses were by large margins of eight and 10 wickets, respectively. They defeated India in the group stage and advanced to the Asia Cup semifinal, where they lost to Sri Lanka by one run.

“We need more matches to close the gap with the elite sides,” Dar remarked ahead of the last ODI in Sydney. “We always wanted to play competitive [cricket] and we can only grow when we play a lot of matches against the greatest teams.
