Rohit’s long-awaited century was eventually achieved, after a long wait. While it wasn’t as lengthy as Virat Kohli, the India captain finally got rid of the monkey off his back after going the year 2022 without scoring a single hundred in any format.

Although Rohit’s form wasn’t a cause for concern—he was consistently getting starts and scoring 50s, 70s, and 80s—a century eluded him.

Rohit’s performance of 101 off 85 balls will allow a cricket nation obsessed with statistics and hundreds to heave a tremendous sigh of relief.
