India Claims Record Victory Over Australia, Takes Pakistan’s T20I Crown
The Indian men’s cricket team has set a new record for most wins in Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket after defeating Australia by 20 runs in the fourth match of their five-match series. The victory gave India an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series and their 136th win in T20Is, surpassing the previous record held by Pakistan.
India’s win was powered by a strong batting performance from their middle order, with Rinku Singh (46 off 29) and Jitesh Sharma (35 off 19) scoring valuable runs. Earlier, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (37 off 28) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (32 off 28) had given India a solid start.
Australia’s chase got off to a decent start, but they were pegged back by a middle-order collapse and were eventually restricted to 154/7. Captain Matthew Wade top-scored with 36* (23), but he lacked support from the other end.
The victory is a significant achievement for India, who have now won the most T20Is of any team. It is also a testament to the depth and talent of their squad. India will be looking to seal the series with a win in the fifth and final match.
