The Pakistani veteran wicketkeeper-batsman, Sarfaraz Ahmed, while talking to the media, said that the national team has the best fast bowlers who can make up for the absence of young pacer Naseem Shah.

Sarfaraz, who will be playing in Canberra for the first time, said, “I have never played in Canberra.”

When he was asked about the match against PM XIs, he said that this match is very important before the Tets series against Australia and that Pakistan will give it their all and take advantage of it to practice more.

While praising PM XI, he said, “Prime Minister XI is a good team for the four-day match; we will get good practice.”

When Sarfaraz was asked about his thoughts on newly appointed skipper Shan Masood, he said, “He is leading the national team for the first time, and it is an honor for any player to represent Pakistan at the highest level.”

He further said that he has good bonding with Mohammad Hafeez as well as former skipper Babar Azam. He mentioned that Babar was always with him during the training camp and discussed the strategies.

The right-arm batter said that apart from personal goals, we agreed to focus on team goals when we left. He said, “Our goal is to play good cricket. We will put effort into winning the series.”

While talking about personal goals, he said that he would give his all during the series if given the opportunity.

“When you play cricket, you are ready for whatever role you are given. Rizwan and I will try to fulfill whatever role is given. Australia is a top-quality side, and you are playing a test series against them. Australia is always tough in their country. We will try to give Australia a tough time. Our team is very good and will play good cricket on the field.”

He also wished the left-arm Australian batter, David Warner, the best of luck for his farewell series and that the national team would try to give him a hard time.

The Pakistan cricket team will play a four-day match in Canberra from December 6 to 9 against PM XI.

The Test series between Pakistan and Australia will begin on December 14. The national team will be led by Shaun Masood, who has been handed the captaincy for the first time.

It is noteworthy to mention that Pakistan has yet to register a win against Australia in Tests on Australian soil.
