Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta, addressed concerns about injuries to key players Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes following the team’s impressive 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners’ decisive win helped revive their pursuit of the Premier League title after a challenging period with just one win in their last five league games, falling behind Liverpool and Manchester City.

During the match, Arsenal’s defensive midfielder, Declan Rice, was substituted for Jorginho in the 73rd minute, visibly grimacing as he left the pitch. Arteta later revealed that the substitution was a precautionary measure due to discomfort in Rice’s hamstring. The manager emphasized, “Declan was feeling something, a sensation in his hamstring, so we won’t take any risks at 3-0.”

In another injury concern, Gabriel Magalhaes, who played a crucial role in the victory with a goal, was also substituted in the 80th minute for Jakub Kiwior. Arteta disclosed that Gabriel had encountered an issue with his knee, stemming from a tackle in the first half. Expressing hope that it’s not a serious injury, Arteta commented, “The other is Gabriel Magalhaes. He had a tackle in the first half on his knee, and he was struggling. I hope [it’s not serious].”

The injury updates add to Arsenal’s existing list of sidelined players, including Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mohamed Elneny, Thomas Partey, and Fabio Viera.

Looking ahead, Arsenal faces a potentially challenging visit to Nottingham Forest in 10 days. Arteta acknowledged the resilience of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team and expressed his intention to use the upcoming period to provide rest for the players before returning to training.

As Arsenal aims to stay competitive in the title race, the status of Rice and Gabriel’s injuries will be closely monitored by the coaching staff and fans alike.
