Lungi Ngigi
In a recent development, South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi is expected to miss the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to delays in obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Cricket South Africa. The delay is attributed to Ngidi’s ongoing fitness concerns.
Peshawar Zalmi, which had already included Ngidi in its roster for the PSL 9 Draft, may look for a replacement in the upcoming supplementary and replacement draft scheduled for January 29.
In addition to Ngidi, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan has also withdrawn from the league due to cautious recovery from back surgery. This has opened up an opportunity for Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars to secure a replacement in the same draft.
Other franchises, including Qalandars, are also making arrangements for temporary replacements for players like Dan Lawrence, Noor Ahmad, Naveen-ul-Haq, Kieron Pollard, Tim Seifert, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Tom Curran.
To address the dynamic challenges faced by teams ahead of the PSL 9 season, franchises will name replacements for players who are either partially or fully unavailable across various categories.
