Pathan voiced his disappointment with the negative feedback, especially from Pakistan, and criticized the unsporting behavior, stating that such attitudes poorly reflect the mindset of those individuals.
“Despite their U19 team not making it to the final, keyboard warriors from across the border find pleasure in our youngsters’ defeat. This negative attitude reflects poorly on their nation’s mindset.” Irfan posted on the social media platform, X.

Australia showed dominance in all three aspects of the game to beat India by 79 runs in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 final in Benoni.
Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Australian captain Hugh Weibgen’s decision was successful as his team set a record of 253/7, the highest total in an U19 World Cup final.
The Australian innings was boosted by Harjas Singh’s half-century and valuable inputs from Weibgen, Harry Dixon, and Ollie Peak, with Raj Limbani being the standout bowler for India with figures of 3/38.
In reply, India’s pursuit began on a shaky note, losing crucial wickets early and finding it difficult to gain momentum against a disciplined Australian bowling unit. Despite a late fightback from Abhishek Murugan, the target was too high to reach, and Australia secured the win in the 44th over.
