MS Dhoni’s iconic helicopter shot is a permanent fixture in cricket history, and as he is likely in his final IPL season, everyone was hoping to see that signature shot from Dhoni’s bat at least once more.

This dream came true during the 59th match of IPL 2024 between CSK and GT at the Narendra Modi Stadium, when Dhoni executed his helicopter shot against Rashid Khan.

Dhoni stepped up to bat following Shivam Dube’s dismissal, and even though the match was nearly over, the former CSK captain didn’t hold back from giving the crowd a show. In the second-to-last over of the game, he hit Mohit Sharma for a one-handed six, and then hit consecutive sixes on the first two deliveries of the final over.

The first of these was a helicopter shot, and this season, Dhoni has truly showcased his classic form with some remarkable power-hitting at the end of the innings. Despite this, CSK lost the match by 35 runs and now need to win their remaining two games to maintain their chances of making it to the playoffs.
