Pakistan has secured a 2-1 victory in the Test series against England by defeating them in the Rawalpindi Test.

On the third day, England resumed their second innings at 23 for 3 but struggled against Pakistan’s spin attack.

The entire English team was bowled out for just 112 runs, setting Pakistan a modest target of 36 runs to chase down.

Joe Root was the top scorer for England, making 33 runs, while Harry Brook scored 26. Other contributors included Ben Duckett with 12 runs, Gus Atkinson and Jack Leach with 10 runs each, and Rehan Ahmed with 7.

Captain Ben Stokes and Jamie Smith scored 3 runs each, while Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope added 2 and 1 run, respectively. Shoaib Bashir remained not out at 4 runs. For Pakistan, Noman Ali took 6 wickets, and Sajid Khan grabbed 4.

Pakistan easily chased down the target, losing only one wicket. Captain Shan Masood scored 23, while Abdullah Shafiq made 5 runs. Saim Ayub added 8 runs before being dismissed. Jack Leach took Pakistan’s only wicket.

Earlier, Pakistan had built a 77-run lead in their first innings, thanks to responsible batting from Saud Shakeel and the tailenders. They began the second day at 73 for 3, with Shakeel scoring a remarkable 134 runs, marking his fourth Test century. Noman Ali contributed 45 runs, and Sajid Khan remained not out at 48, helping Pakistan to a total of 344 runs.

England had previously been bowled out for 267 runs in their first innings, with Jamie Smith scoring 89 and Ben Duckett 52. Sajad Khan excelled with 6 wickets, Noman Ali took 3, and Zahid Mahmood added one.

With this victory, Pakistan has claimed the Test series against England.
