Pakistan score 79-2 at lunch on first day of second Test in Multan
Pakistan reached 79-2 at lunch on the first day of the second Test in Multan on Tuesday. Play will resume after a 30-minute lunch break.
The day began with Pakistan winning the toss and choosing to bat first against Ben Stokes’ England team. Abdullah Shafique (7) and Saim Ayub opened the innings for Pakistan.
Shafique, however, was dismissed by Jack Leach in the 7th over. Skipper Shan Masood came in at number three but was sent back after scoring just three runs off seven balls. This was a contrast to Masood’s performance in the first Test, where he scored a remarkable 151 in the first innings.
At the break, Saim Ayub (40) and Kamran Ghulam (29) remained unbeaten at the crease.
