PSL 10: Here Are the Complete Squads After Player Draft
LAHORE: The player draft for the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 took place at Huzoori Bagh on Monday, where all six franchises finalized their squads for the upcoming edition.
Two-time champions Lahore Qalandars began the draft by selecting New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell as their only pick in the platinum category, having already retained their captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman in the top tier.
The 2020 champions, Karachi Kings, selected Australia’s veteran opener David Warner before adding New Zealand’s Adam Milne and Pakistan’s Abbas Afridi – using a wild card – to their platinum picks. The Kings made a strong showing in the Supplementary rounds, bringing in senior players New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi, both of whom had gone unpicked in the platinum and diamond categories, respectively.
Former champions Quetta Gladiators started with New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell in the platinum category, and then used a wild card to secure Faheem Ashraf. They later added Finn Allen to complete their platinum selections. The Gladiators further strengthened their squad by picking senior all-rounder Shoaib Malik in the Supplementary round, after he had gone undrafted in his designated category.
Peshawar Zalmi opted for the dynamic English batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore as their sole platinum pick, while Multan Sultans and Islamabad United picked New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell and Australia’s Matthew Short, respectively.
