Bayern Munich have shifted their attention to Premier League side Brighton’s manager Roberto de Zerbi after Thomas Tuchel confirmed he will not continue with the Bavarians, as reported by HITC on Friday.

Tuchel announced in February that he would leave the club at the end of the season. Despite going trophyless this season, both the club management and the players wanted the German to stay because he was loved and respected in the dressing room.

There were speculations that he might remain at Bayern, but Tuchel denied all rumors by confirming his departure from the Bavarians, stating: “This is my last press conference as FC Bayern manager, there were talks, but we didn’t reach an agreement so the decision from February still stands.”

Bayern initially aimed to appoint Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso and were leading the race alongside Liverpool for his services, but the Spaniard confirmed he would continue with the Bundesliga champions next season.

After failing to secure Alonso, Bayern turned their focus to De Zerbi, who is considered one of the best managers globally and has done exceptional work with Brighton over the years.

The Italian recently expressed his commitment to Brighton, stating he has no intentions of leaving England.

“I feel good in England, in the Premier League and I have no intention of leaving,” he said.

“There is no team that can change my mind, I have made a commitment. I like being outside and experiencing the atmosphere of the stadium. Furthermore, in England, I have the opportunity to improve my knowledge of the language and football.”

With Bayern’s strong interest, De Zerbi might end up leaving Brighton, as it would be his first time managing a club as significant as Bayern Munich.
