“Joe and I talked for a long time when he remained down as commander and I shared with him the amount he’s intended to me as a skipper, and what an honor it was playing under him,” Broad told columnists.
“I let him know I want to believe that he truly partakes in the following couple of years. He’s as of now a legend of the game … Joe and I are extraordinary companions. I can’t drop out with somebody since they don’t pick me in a group, that sounds a piece woeful.”
The 35-year-old got four wickets at Lord’s, remembering two for one over in the second innings that turned the match in support of England.
“I began this season not knowing whether I’d pull on the England shirt once more … it’s been perhaps the best time week we’ve had collectively,” added Broad.
The second trial of the three-match series starts off at Trent Bridge on Friday.
