Karachi hosts thrilling 35th national games, Pakistan army triumphs with Field Marshal Asim Munir

Karachi: The 35th National Games concluded triumphantly in Karachi, proudly showcasing Pakistan’s sporting talent, with the Pakistan Army asserting its dominance as the overall champion.

The grand closing ceremony was held at the National Bank Stadium, graced by Field Marshal Asim Munir as the chief guest.

Held from December 6 to 13, the games brought together the nation’s top athletes in a celebration of skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Distinguished dignitaries in attendance included PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Sindh Minister for Sports Sardar Mohammad Bakhsh Mehr.

In a gesture of cultural honor, Bilawal Bhutto presented Field Marshal Asim Munir with a traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap, symbolizing respect and pride.

The Pakistan Army dominated the medal tally, securing the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with an impressive haul of 353 medals, while WAPDA and NY followed with 232 and 110 medals, respectively. Outstanding athletes were also recognized for their remarkable performances throughout the games.

In a proud moment for Karachi, the National Games flag was ceremoniously handed over to the officials of the Punjab Olympic Association, who will host the next edition, continuing the legacy of this celebrated national sporting event.
