Jabeur wrote in an Instagram post: “to take care of my current health issue. My medical staff has determined that I need a quick procedure in order to return to the court and play effectively.” The dates for the Qatar Open are February 13 through February 18, and the dates for the Dubai Duty Free Championships are February 19 through March 4.

“I will have to retire from Doha and Dubai and this is breaking my heart. I would like to say sorry to all the fans out there in the middle east that waited for this reunion. I promise I will come back to you stronger and healthy,” she added.

The second seeded Tunisian struggled at the Australian Open last month, falling to Marketa Vondrousova on Rod Laver Arena in the second round.

The 28-year-old had a spectacular year in 2022 as she rose to No. 2 in the world rankings and advanced to the Wimbledon and US Open championships.
