Doha: Pakistan Shaheens clinched a thrilling 5-run victory over Sri Lanka A in the second semi-final of the Rising Stars Asia Cup, securing their spot in the tournament’s final after a gripping contest in Doha.

Batting first, Pakistan Shaheens managed to post 153 for 9 in their 20 overs. Ghazi Ghori held the innings together with an unbeaten 39, while Muaz Sadaqat added 23. Ahmed Daniyal and Saad Masood also made useful contributions of 22 runs each.

On the bowling end for Sri Lanka A, Pramod Madushun impressed with 4 wickets, while Travin Mathew took 3.

Chasing a target of 154, Sri Lanka A fought valiantly but fell short, finishing at 148 for 9 in their allotted overs. Milan Rathnayake top-scored for his side with 40 runs, keeping the chase alive.

However, Pakistan’s bowlers maintained control during the crucial stages with Saad Masood and Sufyan Muqeeb delivering standout performances, claiming three wickets each.

With the narrow victory, Pakistan Shaheens have successfully advanced to the Rising Stars Asia Cup final.

The championship match is scheduled for Sunday, where Pakistan will take on Bangladesh A for the coveted title.
