The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has announced that Pakistan will host two ITF W15,000 USD Women’s Futures tournaments in Islamabad beginning on October 5, 2026, ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup.
The event marks a significant achievement for Pakistan tennis, as it will be the first time the country hosts two consecutive ITF W15,000 USD Women’s Futures tournaments. The initiative highlights the federation’s commitment to promoting women’s tennis and providing local players with international competition opportunities on home soil.
PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi said the federation had already created valuable opportunities for male players through ITF Men’s Futures events and is now extending similar support to female athletes. He said the tournaments will allow Pakistani women players to earn international ranking points and gain valuable experience without the burden of traveling abroad.

The events are also expected to help prepare the national team for the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup. Leading players, including Ushna Suhail, Mahin Aftab, Soha Ali, Romaisa Malik, Bismal Zia, Meheq Khokhar, Zunaisha Noor, Zainab Ali Raja, Fatima Ali Raja, and Laibah Durab, are among those likely to benefit from the tournaments.
The Pakistan Women’s Tennis Association, established in 2024, continues to play an important role in supporting and developing women’s tennis in the country. Association President Asma Khawar Khawaja said the tournaments will strengthen Pakistan’s standing in international tennis and contribute to the growth of future women champions.
PTF Secretary General Col Zia-ud-Din Tufail described the hosting of back-to-back international women’s tournaments as a major accomplishment that will provide players with greater exposure to high-level competition while competing at home.
