In the final league match of the T20 Tri-Nation series, the Sri Lanka national cricket team defeated the Pakistan national cricket team and secured their spot in the final. Battling in Rawalpindi, Pakistan won the toss and asked Sri Lanka to bat first.
Sri Lanka scored 184 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs to set a target of 185. Kusal Mendis made 40 runs and Kamal Mishra hammered a powerful 76, at the same time as Dasun Shanaka remained unbeaten on 17. From Pakistan’s bowling attack, Abrar Ahmed took 2 wickets.

In response, Pakistan came close but fell simply short — they managed 178 for 7. Captain Salman Ali Agha scored a commendable 63 not out. Usman Khan contributed 33 and Mohammad Nawaz scored 27 runs, but Babar Azam couldn’t score a single run.
Regardless of a solid combat from Pakistan, Sri Lanka’s batting energy proved to be the difference, and the “Lankan Lions” marched on to the final.
