Sydney Sixers, the Big Bash League (BBL) franchise, has assigned a special jersey number to Pakistan’s star batter, Babar Azam, ahead of the upcoming season.
Babar Azam, who will be participating in the Big Bash League from December 14 to January 25, has been allocated a unique jersey number for the tournament.
The franchise announced this special gesture in October, when they launched a dedicated fan zone called “Babarsitan.”
The Sixers’ renowned bowler, Mitchell Starc, who also wears the number 56 jersey in international cricket, will continue with his usual number. In contrast, Babar Azam has been given the jersey number ‘056,’ a distinctive three-digit number.
Sydney Sixers shared a video on their social media handles, revealing Babar’s new jersey. They also posted exclusive images of the former Pakistani captain wearing the jersey with his special number.
Babar Azam will make his highly anticipated BBL debut on December 14, where Sydney Sixers will face Perth Scorchers at their home ground.
