T20 World Cup 2026 schedule announced: Pakistan to face Netherlands on opening day

The ICC has introduced the schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament will take place from February 7 to March 8 in India and Sri Lanka.

On the opening day, six teams will be in action. Pakistan will face the Netherlands on February 7, while defending champions India will take on the USA

The 20-team tournament will run for 29 days across eight venues. India will host suits at five grounds, while Sri Lanka will host at three venues.

A total of forty group matches will be played from February 7 to February 20. The top two teams from each organization will move into the Super Eight stage.

The splendid eight-round will start on February 21. The top four teams from this stage will advance to the semifinals, which can be scheduled in Kolkata/Colombo and Mumbai.

The final will be played on March 8 in Ahmedabad or Colombo.

Group Details:

Group A:

India, Pakistan, USA, Namibia, Netherlands

Traditional rivals India and Pakistan will face each other on February 15 in Colombo.

Group B:

Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman

Group C:

England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Italy, Nepal

Group D:

South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada, UAE
