DUBAI: Mohammad Nabi, the captain of the Afghanistan cricket team, on Friday swiftly ducked the reporter’s questions regarding Afghanistan’s political situation.
In a press conference after the five-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the 24th match of the T20 World Cup 2021, instead of being asked a cricketing question, Afghanistan’s skipper was asked by one of the journalists about Pakistan-Afghanistan relations and their impact on cricket amid the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban.
The journalist asked that after the defeat is there any kind of fear among players of questioning as the government and situation have changed in Afghanistan.
The journo further asked as a follow-up question that if Nabi thinks the Afghan team will flourish as Afghanistan shares a healthy relation with Pakistan in a new era.
The political questions instead of cricketing did not go down well with Nabi but still while keeping his cool he replied that his team is playing the World Cup after getting proper preparations and the reporter should ask questions related to cricket.
Well done Muhammad Nabi @MohammadNabi007 for ignoring & keeping the reporter at his place 🏏🇵🇰 ♥ 🇦🇫
