Letizia Battaglia, an Italian photographer who documented the dark world of the Sicilian Mafia through photographs of bullet-riddled victims, has died at the age of 87.   In the 1980s, prize-winning Battaglia, who would ride her Vespa to the scene of killings to witness the bloodshed, swept away the romanticized and sanitized image of Cosa Nostra.
