A US military aircraft carrying five Marines crashed in southern California. Military disputed claims that the plane was transporting radioactive material. The aircraft was identified as a Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton MV-22B Osprey. It crashed near Glamis, about 20 miles (35 kilometres) from the Mexican border.
