The change in privacy rules has compelled the Facebook to disable some of its features from Instagram and Facebook in EU countries.
It is also being reported that some of the users have already received a message which reads, “Some features not available. This is to respect new rules for messaging services in Europe. We’re working to bring them back.”
According to the latest information, it is being said that the communication services across Europe will fall into the category of ePrivacy directive which increases the privacy over the communication taking place through social media.
In order to cope up with the strict regulations Facebook has decided to disbale few of its features.
Moreover, the social media giant has not provided the list of features being switched off. Hence, hoping that the ones complied with the change will be soon reinstate.
As of now option of group chat along with setting nicknames for friends on the app is turned off. Also, there will be no more personalized responses and ck of certain file sense on Messenger’
The feature of sharing augmented-reality face filters via direct message and some of the stickjers arer disabled for the instagram users.
Facebook is still optimistic to bring back its diabled features and told that, “We’re still determining the best way to bring these features back. It takes time to rebuild products in a way that work seamlessly for people and also comply with new regulation.”
Adding that for European users will be able to enjoy the switched off features ‘very soon’.
Some users are still able to access the features as the changes are taking place in different stages.
