Apple Watch, MacBook production could relocate to Vietnam

Apple has ventured out of China in recent years, shifting some of its manufacturing to India and Vietnam, among other countries. iPads and Airpods are currently manufactured in Vietnam. This is huge for the country, but the relationship might deepen. Apple may have Vietnam build its own Apple Watches and MacBooks.

Apple manufactures most of its goods in China, but it’s shifting to other regions.

Covid lockdowns and supply chain difficulties are recent causes. Luxshare Precision Industry and Foxconn in Vietnam are testing Apple Watch production.

It’s a highly advanced product packed with technology. Producing millions of them demands a lot of talent.

According to a source, Apple has stumbled into problems setting up a MacBook production line in Vietnam.

Several circumstances, including the pandemic, have caused these disturbances. Vietnam’s ability to remain cost-competitive with China is a problem.

Apple may potentially test the production of its HomePod speakers in Vietnam.

In 2017, Apple began producing its iPhone in India, its first international venture. The first orders were for the iPhone SE, but Apple quickly switched production to India for the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12.

Now the country also makes the iPhone 13, and reports say it could make the iPhone 14. Vietnam will produce Apple Airpods and iPads from 2020.

It will be intriguing to observe how Apple’s growth in Vietnam, India, and China progresses.
