YouTube will remove dislike button for music videos
YouTube has finally discovered that the dislike button creates user competition and is seeking to remove it. In the past year, YouTube has gradually phased out the dislike button that appeared immediately beneath individual videos; now, YouTube Music has followed suit.
This was the option provided by YouTube Music when rating a song’s quality. I don’t think anyone would miss the hate button on YouTube Music, either, because so few people really use it.
In response, YouTube is releasing a new upgrade that will introduce several user interface improvements. The dislike button for music videos will be one of many features removed from YouTube.
The Now Playing interface has also been updated as part of the UI refresh. When playing music, the hate button used to be located to the left of the song title, while the like button was on the right.
Alternatively, the update shifts the title and the like button to the left. A three-dot menu, once located in the upper right corner of the user interface, has been moved to its new home next to the like button. Plus, it’s convenient that the cast button is in the top right corner of the display.
The progress bar is shifted to a more eye-catching position, while the track-control options are relocated to the lower part of the screen. The play/pause symbol will be white, and the play/pause button will be inverted. The cover picture will shift upwards and the album’s title will appear on the screen’s left.
All of the aforementioned modifications are minor and do not significantly advance the redesign as a whole. However, YouTube’s music section appears to be making an effort to streamline the user experience.
